This monument is very difficult to photograph, but Ian Thompson has done a good job...

as has Howard Goldbaum...

...while Ken Williams...

... is perhaps a little over the Tops in the early morning...

...but in 2010 he marvellously managed to get this splendid photograph of the sun rising
over the only decorated stone on the quarter-day of May 5th - the Celtic feast of Bealtáine,
from which the circle gets its name.
