The single capstone of this partly-collapsed dolmen is reputed to be the heaviest
in Europe, weighing 100 tonnes.
It rests on 3 uprights 1.8 metres high, and on two prostrate boulders.
A fourth upright stands nearby and might possibly be the remains of a forecourt.
The extent of the burial-chamber cannot be determined.
One wonders what happened the back-stone(s)...
Two characteristic photos by Ken
Williams.
