Kenmare, county Kerry

V 907 707 - Sheet 78

On the SW outskirts of Kenmare, 600 metres SW of Cromwell's Fort (a 17th century castle),
stand fifteen stones (two prostrate) which enclose an oval area over 16 metres across, i
n the middle of which is a good example of a boulder-burial comprising three small stones and a large capstone.
It is here seen with cattle in an April shower in the mid nineteen-seventies..

The same circle photographed by Jim Dempsey in 2011!

A close-up of the boulder-burial.
